Travel Journal Entry:

My first REAL ski lesson occurred on the “Gun Barrel” at Heavenly Valley. As a novice 14-year-old skier, I found myself trapped at the top of the Gun Barrel, a triple Black Diamond run with about 4,000’ feet of vertical drop so steep that when traversing, I used my up-hill hand on the wall of snow to steady myself. It took me 5 hours to reach the bottom.
